Garden Planning and Seed Starting

We’ll dive into the essentials of garden planning and learn how to start seeds for a successful growing season! This interactive session is perfect for kids and parents alike, combining creativity and practical gardening skills.

We’ll focus on planning a garden layout that works for your space and discuss the importance of starting certain plants early in the season. Everyone can sketch out their garden bed and decide what they will plant. Then, we’ll get our hands dirty as we plant seeds. Families will take home their seeded pots to nurture until it’s time to transplant them outdoors.

What to Expect:

  • Garden Planning Basics: Children will learn how to map out your garden space, choose plants, learn about companion planting, and think ahead for the growing season.

  • Seed Starting Workshop: Step-by-step guidance on starting seeds, including tips on soil, light, and watering.

  • Take-Home Project: Each participant will leave with their own seeded pots and instructions for care.

What to Bring:

  • Notebook and colored pencils
